By Baptism, we become members of the Church, the Body of Christ.
In Baptism, the Holy Spirit moves us to answer Christ's call to holiness. We are asked to walk by the light of Christ and trust in his wisdom. We are invited to submit our hearts to Christ with ever-deeper love.
Adults who wish to become Catholic may receive the Sacrament of Baptism through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults. More information can be found here.
A baptism preparation class is required prior to the sacrament for parents who have not had a child baptized previously.
To schedule your preparation class and/or your child's Baptism, please call or complete an online form here.
Requirements for Baptism: To have your child baptized at Nativity of Mary Parish or St. Bernadette's, you must 1) be a registered parishioner or register as a parishioner, OR provide a letter of permission from the pastor of the church where you are a registered parishioner; 2) Attend a baptismal preparation class; and 3) Provide the names of Godparents and the parish they attend. The Godparent(s) will be required to deliver a form to their pastor for him to sign attesting to their eligibility. THIS FORM MUST BE AFFIXED WITH THE PARISH SEAL.
