"Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." - Matthew 28:19-20
Requirements for Baptism: To have your child baptized at Nativity of Mary Parish, you must 1) be a registered parishioner or register as a parishioner, OR provide a letter of permission from the pastor of the church where you are a registered parishioner; 2) Attend a baptismal preparation class; and 3) Provide the names of Godparents and the parish they attend. Staff will request a letter of recommendation from the parish priest to ensure the Godparent's eligibility.
Requirements for Godparents: You are required to have at least one Godparent who is a Baptized and Confirmed Catholic. You may also have a Christian Witness (a Baptised non-Catholic). If you have two Godparents, one must be a man and the other a woman. Godparents must also be in good standing with the Catholic Church, including (but not limited to) a valid marriage. You must provide the parish with the name of the parish prospective Godparents are attending so staff may request a letter of recommendation.
